In the first research phase of working together, CESAR and Wings identified a new path for digital transformation and have collaborated to create an intelligent personal assistant called VAI (“Vehicle with Intelligent Assistance” in Portuguese). The product delivers secure and accurate information, such as real-time fault warnings or alerts on the car’s health status.
In addition to real-time monitoring and alerts, VAI provides drivers with warnings tied to speed-limit violations, environmental details, and alerts the car needs maintenance or specific parts need to be replaced or checked, among other functionalities. VAI is equipped with a built-in GPS locator, a motion sensor, and a chip for data transmission via a 3G connection.

The VAI project was the result of a six-year partnership between CESAR and Wings, and the motivation behind VAI was clear: to overcome the lack of real-time vehicle information. VAI was conceived as a strategic solution, initially focused on dealerships, but that vision has expanded to serving rental companies and large fleet operators interested in asset and fleet management. Its primary purpose is to help these operators access and control vital vehicle information in real time.
VAI aims to ensure the integrity of vehicles and to monitor and reinforce good driver behaviors by identifying driving patterns and providing alerts designed to promote better practices and increase safety on the road.
This pioneering solution is based on a cloud-based IoT platform that enables real-time data collection and analysis, and incorporates technologies including A.I., big data, cloud computing, and data science. Currently, the platform supports 12,000 vehicles, and it continues to evolve in terms of technological maturity.
