Digital TV

C.E.S.A.R has broad experience in the development of applications for Digital TV. The Center has participated in the construction of testing suites for the Brazilian Digital TV System and in the process has become a national reference. 

The Center has also implemented the first large-scale application for the OpenTV platform during the World Soccer Cup Games in 2006 and has, since then, been working on similar applications for both free to air and/or paid broadcasting in Brazil. It has developed the GINGA applications transmitted experimentally in 2007 in São Paulo, thus demonstrating the its trail-blazing spirit and expertise in the area.  

C.E.S.A.R’s Digital TV Lab has the proper equipment to simulate digital content transmission and reception in several standards such as FTA (Brazil and Europe) or closed (OpenTV) such as:

- Transmitter/Modulator (DVB-T e DVB-H): terrestrial and mobile transmission on the European model;
- Transmitter/Modulator (ISDB-TB, DVB-T e DVB-C): terrestrial transmission under the Brazilian and European models as well as cable transmission in the European model. The latter is also used for closed/cable (OpenTV) content transmissions;
- Transmission boards (Detc Tek 110 and 140): cable and terrestrial transmission using the European model. Used for closed OpenTV content transmission; 
- DVB-H receiver: used for mobile/portable receiving tests. European model; 
- USB receiver: used for mobile/portable receiving tests. Brazilian and European models. Also called Pen-TV;
- Set-top Boxes (DVB-T): Transmission receivers for terrestrial broadcasting under the European model;
- Set-top Boxes (OpenTV – SD): Transmission receivers via cable of content in the OpenTV closed/subscriber model;
- Set-top boxes ISDB-TB: Transmission receivers via terrestrial broadcasting under the Brazilian model;
- Playout (ISDB-TB, DVB-T, DVB-C): The software for generating digital content flow under the Brazilian (broadcasting) and European (broadcasting and cable) models.
