User Experience

Since its early days, the institution has developed a design team that has reinvented itself according to the needs of the market as well as C.E.S.A.R’s own needs with an eye to continuous research and innovation. Beginning in 2004, the need arose to define a basic process which could be applied to the broad creation of products, from interfaces to Digital TV up to accessibility plants.

A user-centered design process was then creased based on the ISO 13407 standard which is divided into four basic steps:

1. User research – Qualitative studies using techniques such as ethnography, interviews and others help C.E.S.A.R to identify the needs of a specific audience as well as opportunities for innovation.

2. Brainstorming – Through the intense generation of ideas using the research data, the teams   then selects the best ideas for the next phase.

3. First prototyping – The team then generates and reviews design alternatives by building prototypes in increasing levels of accuracy, from paper models to fully operational models.

4. Evaluation – This is the testing phase of the prototypes with real users. The goal is to identify potential problems and to improve the prototypes according to the user’s needs.
